Some clarification:
An apocalypse is an unveiling, or revelation.

The last book of the new testament of the bible is titled "Apocalypse" in the Greek, or "Revelation" in the English. This book describes end-of-the-world events (among other things).
This aspect of that particular apocalypse, or revelation, is the only thing that the word "apocalypse" has to do with "end of the world".
